Michelle K. Lee is the new Director of the United State Patent Office. In an unusual move on March 13, 2015 at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas (my home) Ms. Lee was sworn into her new office by the Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker before an audience of innovators.
You can see the very brief ceremony here. Pretty cool actually.
